Google Maps Caught Me Painting

Sometimes something just makes your day and this one I have to share. I've been painting on site (plein air cityscapes)for decades now. It's one of the most challenging yet wonderful things I do. I try to position myself out of the fray, off to the side where I'm not in the way but always where countless people walk past observing, sometimes commenting or conversing with me as I paint. It's different from working in a studio. Everyone sees your work at it's beginning, it's worst, and unresolved points. I've had people compliment me on my abstract painting (I'm a realist) revel in my blue view (it's an under painting) and one unhappy man one day told me outright that it s**ked (that ruined my day and I went home but returned 7 more days to finish). I can honestly tell you that has only happened once in all my years. Everyone else either ignores my shortcomings or gives me a supportive "good job". People just want to be nice and they love watching artists.
Today, however, I hit the big time. I was searching some possible sites I could visit to paint on Google Maps and I there it was. Me! On Google Maps, painting away on a street corner! My proof that I paint on site. A moment in time has been captured. Looks like I was just starting the painting, yup, blue abstract under painting. I also remember meeting a wonderful gent that day. He told me he worked bridge construction in the South. You see, that's one of two the things I like most about painting outdoors on city streets in Boston. You meet the most interesting and wonderful people. The other thing? Beautiful buildings.
